Heri es-Souani granaries and stables, Meknes
Heri es-Souani, granaries for storing grain and hay and stables for housing 12, 000 royal horses, built in the 17th century under Sultan Moulay Ismail Ibn Sharif, 1672-1727, Alaouite dynasty, at Meknes, Meknes-Tafilalet, Morocco. The building has tiny windows, massive walls and a system of underground water channels, which keep the air cool and circulating.
