Icon of St Nicholas the Wonderworker, which was miraculously renewed in 1935, when the varnish began to lighten, in the Cathedrale Saint-Nicolas, a Russian orthodox cathedral built 1903-12, designed by Mikhail Preobrazhenski, in Nice, Provence, France. This icon is placed in front of the iconostasis and was present at the death of crown prince Alexander II. It is listed as a historic monument. Picture by Manuel Cohen
