The Iglesia de San Pablo, or Church of St Paul, begun in Visigothic times and completed in the 18th century, on the Plaza Primero de Mayo, in Ubeda, Jaen, Andalusia, Spain. On the right is the statue of San Juan de la Cruz, by Francisco Palma Burgos, 1918-85, inaugurated in 1959. The church is listed as a historic monument and the Renaissance buildings of Ubeda and Baeza are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
