Large clay jar, Hittite, c. 1650-1200 BC, in the Alacahoyuk Museum, at Alacahoyuk or Alaca Hoyuk, a Neolithic Hatti and later Hittite settlement founded c. 5, 500 BC, near Alacahuyuk village in Anatolia, Turkey. The Hittite diet consisted mainly of grains, meat and milk. Remains have been found at the site from the Hatti, Chalcolithic, Phrygian and Ottoman periods. Picture by Manuel Cohen
