Jewelled Platform, Monte Alban, Oaxaca, Mexico
Jewelled Platform, or Plataforma Enjoyada, or Building A, a pyramid temple built c. 500 AD attached to the North Platform, at Monte Alban, ancient Zapotec capital founded 6th century BC, Oaxaca, Mexico. The platform has a Teotihuacan style staircase, was decorated with ornamental panels with stone discs, paint and stucco, and mica and obsidian were discovered here.
