Khachkars or Armenian cross-stones in the Great Gavit, a narthex adjacent to Surb Nshan or Holy Cross Church, at Haghpat monastery, a medieval monastery complex of the Armenian Apostolic Church, founded c. 976 by queen Khosrovanuysh and built 10th - 13th century, at Haghpat, Lori, Armenia. The gavit was originally built as a royal mausoleum in 1185 by princess Mariam, and expanded from 1208 under abbot Hovhannes Khachentsi. The monastery is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
