Krystel Gualde, author of Nantes and the Atlantic Slave Trade, 2017, and scientific director at the Musee d'histoire de Nantes, in the Chateau des ducs de Bretagne, in Nantes, Pays de la Loire, France. Behind is the plan, profile and layout of the Nantes slave ship Marie Seraphique, outfitted by Gruel, captained by Gaugy, 1769, by Rene L'Hermitte, and views of the Nantes coast in the 18th and 19th centuries.
