Landwehrkanal, Berlin, Germany
The Landwehrkanal, a 10.7km long canal parallel to the river Spree in Berlin, Germany, built 1845-50 by Peter Joseph Lenne. It connects the Spree at the Osthafen or Eastern Harbour in Friedrichshain with its lower part in Charlottenburg, flowing through Kreuzberg and Tiergarten. On the left bank is Tempelhofer Ufer and above, an U-Bahn crossing the railway bridge. Picture by Manuel Cohen
