Lighthouse, 1863, on the Ile d'If off the coast of Marseilles, Bouches-du-Rhone, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. The island holds the Chateau d'If, a fortress built 1524-31 and used as a prison 1540-1914, now a visitor attraction.
