Reconstructed longhouse built 1993, with sleeping platforms, central fire and working and living areas, at Viking Center Fyrkat, 1km from Fyrkat ring fortress, built 980 under king Harald Bluetooth, near Hobro, Jutland, Denmark. The Viking Center contains a reconstructed longhouse, farmhouse, smithy, barn and other buildings. The fort is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
