Maison de Lamartine, built 1705 by the great-grandfather of Alphonse de Lamartine, 1790-1869, poet and author, and his childhood home, on a vineyard estate at Le Bourg, Milly-Lamartine, Saone-et-Loire, Bourgogne-Franche-Comte, France. Lamartine inherited the house in 1830 and wrote many poems there before selling it in 1860. The house is listed as a historic monument. Picture by Manuel Cohen
