Entrance to The Temple of the Magician or House of the Dwarf, c. 900 AD, Puuc architecture, Uxmal late classical Mayan site, flourished between 600-900 AD, Yucatan, Mexico. On both sides of the entrance, panels with calendric or astronomic hieroglyphs. Above the nose of the huge mask, an empty niche which may contain the statue of an importanty personnage on a pedestal held up by two kneeling slaves.
