The Temple of the Sea, single-roomed building overlooking the Caribbean, Tulum (Zama, Zamal), arise and grew between 12th and 16th centuries AD, Postclassic period, Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Mexico. Formally it had a roof made of limestone mixed with pieces of seashells and conch, and supported by wooden beams. Picture by Manuel Cohen
