Memmius Monument, 1st century AD, Domitian Square, Ephesus, Izmir, Turkey. The monument was constructed during the reign of Augustus by Memmius, the grandson of dictator Sulla. Here we see the figures of his father and grandfather. Ephesus was an ancient Greek city founded in the 10th century BC, and later a major Roman city, on the Ionian coast near present day Selcuk.
