Zapotec ruins at Mitla, a Zapotec and Mixtec city and sacred burial site at San Pablo Villa de Mitla in the Tlacolula Valley in Oaxaca, Mexico. The Zapotecs settled here until around 900 AD, when the city became Mixtec until the Spanish arrived in the 16th century. Picture by Manuel Cohen
