Composite model of Gamla Uppsala from throughout history, including the Gamla Uppsala Church, built 12th century on the site of an ancient pagan temple, in Gamla Uppsala Museum, inaugurated 2000, at Gamla Uppsala, near Uppsala, Sweden. Gamla Uppsala was the historical residence of Swedish kings and an important religious and political centre from the 3rd century AD through the Middle Ages.
