Montebello castle, Bellinzona, Switzerland
Montebello castle, built early 14th century for the Rusconi family, with a keep of 1313, and expanded 1462-90, in Bellinzona, Ticino, Switzerland. The castle is linked to the town by crenellated defensive walls. The castle is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and now houses the Archaeological and Civic Museum, opened 1974.
