Neptune and Amphitrite, glass paste mosaic, in the triclinium of the Casa di Nettuno e Anfitrite, or House of Neptune and Amphitrite, a small house in Herculaneum, a Roman town at Ercolano, Naples, Campania, Italy. Herculaneum was founded in the 7th century BC and was destroyed by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
