Theseus and the Minotaur in the Labyrinth, medallion mosaic, 3rd - 4th century AD, in Room 36, in the House of Theseus, residence of the Roman governor, built late 2nd century AD, at Paphos Archaeological Park, or Kato Pafos Archaeological Park, Paphos, Cyprus. The mosaic depicts Theseus with a club, holding the horn of the Minotaur, with personifications of the Labyrinth as an old man, of the island of Crete and Ariadne. New Pafos was founded 4th century BC by king Nicocles and was the ancient capital of Cyprus from 2nd century BC. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
