Nave of the Church and Convent of the Dominicans, built 1510, the first catholic building in the New World, in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean. It was inaugurated in 1532 and became the University Santo Tomas de Aquino in 1538, the first university in the Americas. Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
