New spire, Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, Paris, France
Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, built 1163-1345 in French Gothic style, in November 2023, with newly built spire framework in place, replacing the one destroyed by fire in April 2019, on the Ile de la Cite in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, France. The spire, originally designed by Eugene Viollet-le-Duc in the 19th century, was reconstructed by Ateliers Les Bras Freres, Jarny, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Grand Est, using traditional techniques. The roof and ornamentation covering the spire will be built in 2024. Picture by Manuel Cohen
