North Platform, Monte Alban, Oaxaca, Mexico
Building B, built by the Mixtecs after 850 AD once the Zapotecs had left the city, on the North Platform, built from 200 BC, at Monte Alban, ancient Zapotec capital founded 6th century BC, Oaxaca, Mexico. The north platform housed the homes of the royal family and elite ceremonial area with temples and a sunken patio. The site is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
