Ostrich, Souss-Massa National Park, Morocco
North African ostrich, reintroduced to the region from 1996, in the Souss-Massa National Park, or Parc National de Souss-Massa, a protected area covering 33, 800 hectares in southern Morocco, on the Atlantic coast. The park was founded in 1991 and includes the Oued Souss estuary, Oued Massa, steppes, dunes, beaches and wetlands. The area is important for wildlife, especially birds. Picture by Manuel Cohen
