Jelling Stone mural, depicting Christ in crucifixion pose and interlacing patterns, from the Jelling Stone, erected c. 965 by king Harald Bluetooth at Jelling, in the Aggersborg Museum, at Aggersborg, a Viking ring fortress built 10th century, near Aggersund, on the Limfjord in north Denmark. The Jelling Stone is the earliest known depiction of Christ in Scandinavia. Aggersborg is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
