Christ in judgement, in a mandorla surrounded by angels, the Virgin and St John, with saints to each side, detail from the Last Judgement, 1425-30, tempera painting on panel, Renaissance, by Fra Angelico, 1395-1455, in the Dominican Convent of St Mark, now the Museo Nazionale di San Marco, in Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The painting was commissioned by the Camaldolese Order for abbot Ambrogio Traversar, for the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Florence. The original convent was rebuilt 1437-52 for Cosimo I de Medici by Michelozzo di Bartolomeo Michelozzi, 1396-1472, in Renaissance style. It is part of the Florence UNESCO World Heritage Site.
