Palais des Papes or Palace of the Popes, a medieval International Gothic palace and fortress, housing the Avignon papacy in the 14th century, Avignon, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. The building combines the Benedict XII palace on the Rocher des Doms and the Clement VI palace, designed by Pierre Peysson and Jean de Louvres, decorated by Simone Martini and Matteo Giovanetti.
