Passerelle de la Grange-aux-Belles, Canal Saint-Martin

Canal barge under the Passerelle de la Grange-aux-Belles, a cast iron arched pedestrian footbridge built late 19th century in the Marais basin, and the Ecluses des Recollets lock, between the Quai de Valmy and Quai de Jemmapes, over the Canal Saint-Martin in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, France. The footbridge is positioned next to the Pont Tournant de la Grange-aux-Belles, a road bridge which rotates to allow canal boats to pass. The Canal Saint-Martin is a 4.6km long waterway between the Canal de l'Ourcq and river Seine, built 1802-25 to provide a fresh water source to the city and provide a trade route for canal barges.
