Porte Auguste, a city gate in the monumental Roman ramparts built late 1st century BC under emperor Augustus, next to the Eglise Saint-Baudile in Nimes, Gard, Occitanie, France. The Via Domitia road entered the city through this gate and it contained 4 arched passages for vehicles and pedestrians. In the centre is a statue of Augustus. Picture by Manuel Cohen
