Portrait of Andre Massena, 1756-1817, French military commander and marshal of the empire during the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars, wearing uniform of marshal of the empire and order of the legion of honour, oil painting on canvas, c. 1840, by Sophie Fantet, after an original by Antoine-Jean Gros, in the Musee d'Art et d'Histoire de Nice, founded 1921, in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. The museum is housed in the Villa Massena, a Belle Epoque mansion designed by Hans Georg Tersling and built 1898 for Victor Massena, grandson of Andre Massena.
