Postblloku Memorial, Tirana, Albania
Postblloku Memorial or Memorial to Communist Isolation, inaugurated 2013, with a fragment of the Berlin Wall (nr: 28/40 Postdamer Platz Berlin-Mitte), a gift to the people of Albania from the city of Berlin, Tirana, Albania. The Berlin Wall was built in 1961 and became a symbol of the isolation of the communist world until it was demolished in 1990. The memorial consists of 3 parts - the mine at Spac, a bunker and a section of the Berlin Wall. Tirana was founded by the Ottomans in 1614 by Sulejman Bargjini and became the capital of Albania in 1920. Picture by Manuel Cohen
