Postern Gate, a concealed secondary tunnel entrance to the fortified city passing under the city walls, Hittite, 14th century BC, at Alacahoyuk or Alaca Hoyuk, a Neolithic Hatti and later Hittite settlement founded c. 5, 500 BC, near Alacahuyuk village in Anatolia, Turkey. The gate originally featured 2 towers, 2 doors, and an entrance. Remains have been found at the site from the Hatti, Chalcolithic, Phrygian, Roman and Ottoman periods. Picture by Manuel Cohen
