Postern Wall, built 16th century BC to protect the Lower City, with casemates 8m wide filled with rubble, and 8 postern tunnels underneath the ramparts, at Hattusa archaeological site, near Bogazkale, Corum, Anatolia, Turkey. Hattusa was the capital of the Hittite empire, built in the late Bronze Age from c. 1650 BC, on an older Chalcolithic settlement founded 6th millennium BC.
