Sugar cane factory with mill powered by waterwheel, engraving, 18th century, from the Sugarmaking and Sugar Refining entry of the Encyclopaedia of Diderot and d'Alembert, published 1751-72, in the Musee de la Marine de Loire, a museum celebrating the history of navigation, trade and life on the river Loire, opened 1961 in the stable block of the Chateau de Chateauneuf-sur-Loire, adapted from 1995 by Philippe Prost, Loiret, Centre-Val de Loire, France.
