Statue thought to be Isis, wearing Egyptian knotted gown and Hellenistic cobra diadem, granite, late Ptolemaic period, from Abu Qir, in the Alexandria National Museum, opened 2003, in the former US consulate, a palace built 1926 on Tariq Al-Horreya street, in Alexandria, Egypt. The museum houses collections from Alexandria and Egypt, from the Pharaonic, Hellenistic, Roman, Coptic and Islamic periods. Picture by Manuel Cohen
