On the left is the Chateau Frontenac, opened 1893, designed by Bruce Price as a chateau style hotel for the Canadian Pacific Railway company or CPR. The building was extended and the central tower added in 1924, by William Sutherland Maxwell. It is now a hotel, the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac, and is listed as a National Historic Site of Canada. The Historic District of Old Quebec is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
