Queenhithe Dock Mosaic, London, England, UK

Norman Conquest section of the Queenhithe Dock Mosaic, 2011-14, created by Southbank Mosaics with 300 volunteers, depicting Harold being killed by an arrow in the eye at the Battle of Hastings in 1066, in the style of the Bayeux Tapestry, in London, England. The 30m long mosaic depicts historical events from Roman times to Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee in 2012. It is located on a flood defence wall on the north bank of the river Thames where a Roman wharf and an Anglo-Saxon dock once stood. Picture by Manuel Cohen
