Rampart of Yerkapi, Hattusa, Anatolia, Turkey
Steps on the Rampart of Yerkapi, southwest side, built over an underground tunnel postern gate in an embankment 250x80x15m in size, topped with city walls and Sphinx Gate, at Hattusa archaeological site, near Bogazkale, Corum, Anatolia, Turkey. Hattusa was the capital of the Hittite empire, built in the late Bronze Age from c. 1650 BC, on an older Chalcolithic settlement founded 6th millennium BC.
