Hieroglyph inscription listing the jubilee celebrations held by Prince Khaemweset for his father Ramses II, 19th dynasty, New Kingdom, on Bigeh island in the river Nile, Aswan, Nubia, Egypt, site of the Temple of Osiris, part of the Philae temple complex, Ptolemaic, 3rd century BC. The island was partially submerged after the building of the Old Aswan Dam in 1902, along with nearby Agilkia and Philae. Osiris, consort of Isis, to whom the main temple was dedicated, was believed to be buried on Bigeh. The ruins form part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
