Shaushka, a winged god wearing pointed hat, pleated skirt and cloak, an embodiment of the goddess Ishtar, relief sculpture in Chamber A, 13th century BC, at Yazilikaya, an ancient Bronze Age Hittite rock sanctuary, founded 16th century BC, near the site of Hattusa, Corum, Anatolia, Turkey. The site comprises Chamber A, Chamber B and originally, a large temple complex with entrance gate, court and halls. Hattusa was the capital of the Hittite empire, built in the late Bronze Age from c. 1650 BC, and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
