Relief - Sanctuary, Mammisi, Temple of Isis, Philae Complex
Ptolemy VIII offering a pectoral to Horus, Upeset, Nekhbet and Buto or Wadjet, relief, detail, 2nd century BC, from the west wall of the sanctuary of the mammisi or Birth House, Ptolemaic, built c. 300 BC, in the Temple of Isis, at the Philae Temple Complex, originally on Philae Island, and moved to Agilkia Island in the reservoir of the Aswan Low Dam, Nubia, Egypt. The site consists of the Temple of Isis, built under Nectanebo I, 380-362 BC, and later ruins from the Ptolemaic and Roman periods, and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
