2-headed eagle holding rabbits, royal symbol of power and protection, bas-relief detail from the Sphinx Gate with 2 monumental sphinxes guarding the city entrance, Hittite, 14th century BC, at Alacahoyuk or Alaca Hoyuk, a Neolithic Hatti and later Hittite settlement founded c. 5, 500 BC, near Alacahuyuk village in Anatolia, Turkey.
