Sobek, crocodile headed god, offering an ankh or symbol of life to Thutmose III, relief, at the Temple of Amun, or Amun Djeser Set, built 11th dynasty and rebuilt 18th dynasty, 1458 BC, by Hatshepsut and Thutmose III, at Medinet Habu, in the Theban Necropolis on the west bank of the river Nile opposite Thebes, Luxor, Egypt. The temple is situation beside the entrance to the mortuary temple of Ramesses III and was used Throughout Egyptian, Greek, Ptolemaic, Roman and Coptic christian times.
