Republic Square, or Prokurative, a 3 sided arcaded Neo-Renaissance style square designed by Antonio Bajamonti, 1822-91, built 1859-1928, in Split, Croatia. Split was founded as a Greek colony in 3rd century BC, was the seat of Roman emperor Diocletian from 305 AD and was later ruled by Byzantines, Venetians and Dalmatians.
