Rialto Bridge or Ponte di Rialto in the evening, a covered stone arch bridge designed by Antonio da Ponte and built 1588-91 over the Grand Canal, connecting San Marco with San Polo, in Venice, Veneto, Italy. The city of Venice is an archipelago of 117 small islands separated by canals and linked by bridges, in the Venetian Lagoon. The historical centre of Venice is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
