Riva, Split, Croatia

Riva or waterfront promenade, with bell tower, built 1100 in Romanesque style, of the Cathedral of St Domnius, in Split, Croatia. Split was founded as a Greek colony in 3rd century BC, was the seat of Roman emperor Diocletian from 305 AD and was later ruled by Byzantines, Venetians and Dalmatians.
