Roman amphitheatre, Arles, France
Roman amphitheatre or arena, aerial view, built 1st century AD, in Arles, Provence, France. The building measures 136x107m and held up to 20, 000 spectators, who watched gladiator fights, hunts and shows. In medieval times it was developed as a fortified city, and it now hosts bullfights.
