Order of the King's Council of State concerning the trademarks to be affixed to pieces of muslin and white cotton canvas from the West Indies, Nantes, 18th October 1721, in the Musee d'histoire de Nantes, in the Chateau des ducs de Bretagne, in Nantes, Pays de la Loire, France. To protect national textile production, fabrics imported by th Compagnie des Indes were trademarked and taxed, and their sale tightly controlled.
