Runic inscription carved by Norseman in the 12th century ('Ingibiorg the fair widow. Many a woman has gone stooping in here. A great show-off. Erling.'), with the name of the carver below in a rare form of runes, on the north west wall of the main chamber of the tomb at Maeshowe, a Neolithic chambered cairn containing a monumental tomb, built c. 2800 BC, near Stenness on Mainland, Orkney, Scotland.
