Runestone, Anundshog, Sweden
Runestone, with runic inscription reading Folkvid raised all these stones for Heden, Anund's Brother. Vred carved the runes, early 11th century, at Anundshog, Vasteras, Vastmanland, Sweden. A carved image of a man and woman embracing sits within the inscription. This area was an important trade centre from the Iron Age, and the site contains 12 burial mounds, graves, ship settings, runestones and settlements. Picture by Manuel Cohen
