Staircase with lion sculptures in the Salon Renaissance, inspired by castle state rooms, with monumental fireplace, tapestries and coffered ceiling, at the Maison de Pierre Loti, home of Pierre Loti, born Louis Marie-Julien Viaud, 1850-1923, French writer and naval officer, in Rochefort, Charente-Maritime, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. Loti was born in the house and decorated it with collections from his travels in Europe, Arabia and Asia.
